Guided by experts from Greece and from around the world, we will discuss interesting findings from a survey conducted by the Child & Adolescent Mental Health Initiative ,* which is part of SNF’s $750 million-plus international Health Initiative. On the first day of the SNF Nostos Conference, we will begin by focusing on the field of child and adolescent mental health, listening to young people themselves talking about what’s on their minds and what they are dealing with. We want every question, every opinion, every objection, every voice to be heard. In these discussions on June 22 and 23, in collaboration with researchers and experts from a wide range of fields, all of us will be active participants and not mere spectators. ![]() Our intention, in collaboration with the nonprofit journalism organization iMEdD (incubator for Media Education and Development) and with the help of the young people from all over the world through the SNF Nostos Youth Advisory Committee, is to look at mental health as comprehensively and intelligibly as possible. But we are determined to address a number of important topics from a variety of perspectives, talk about issues that concern us all on a daily basis or during specific periods of our lives, and highlight facets less commonly known or relevant to specific populations. Mental health is a challenging and complex topic whose depths we certainly could not plumb in the two days of the conference.
